      CLUB RULES APPLICABLE TO THE FLYING FIELD

These are in addition to the Published BMFA guidelines referred to in the Handbook

1…. Flying times are…. 10am to one hour before dusk, 7 days a we

2…. All junior members must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times, while  attending the flying field

3…. Check that you know where the “no fly zones” are before flying.

4…. Prior to running an IC engine in the pits ensure that the model is tethered with a suitable restraining loop etc. and is pointing OUT from the Pit area at the time of starting the engine. Electric powered models do need restraint, and the transmitter operated throttle lock MUST be set up for operation, this is to prevent accidental start up of the electric motor once the battery has been connected

5…. Maximum number of models in the air at any one time is 4. When taking off the pilot must be next to or behind the pilot box not on the strip . When more than 1 model is flying recovery of a model that has landed must be under the complete guidance and approval of the pilots with models flying before entering the take off/landing strip/p>

6… Only Minimum BMFA A certificate holders allowed to fly solo on the runway. All trainees flying must be accompanied by a club approved Instructor at all times preferably using dual control system. Experienced pilots that have not passed their A cert may be assessed by one of our instructors or examiner and if deemed safe to fly solo with qualified pilot standing next to them ( min 6 months ) to practice their A test. This will be for a minimum of 10 (weather permitting ) flying days prior to taking their A test

8…. All trainees must use a suitable high wing trainer, approved by a flying club committee member

9…. Hover patch to be used for drone/helicopter training only

10.. Drone Pilots can only use the main runway to fly “solo” if they are in possession of the appropriate BMFA A certificate for drone operation

11.. Do not leave litter or broken parts on the field

12..When Maintenance staff are operating (Grass cutting/Hedge trimming e.c.t) all flying is forbidden. Only when Maintenance staff give the all clear and leave the area can flying commence.

The committee has the right if deemed necessary, to revoke membership if these basic rules are consistently abused
